By Public Transport

Train

Use Bristol Temple Meads station, we are a 20 minute walk, 17 minute Ferry ride or a 10 minute bus ride.

Bus

Catch First Bus service numbers 8 or 9 to College Green, walk from College Green down the side of Bristol Cathedral. Cross the road at the traffic lights to the aquarium.

 

Ferry Boat

Take to the water and catch a Bristol Ferry boat and travel in style to the aquarium (City Centre Stop)

To catch the ferry you will need to arrive a couple of minutes early and be clearly visible at the landing stage – you can wave to hail the ferry to you.

They serve 7 landing stages; Temple Meads, Castle Park, City Centre, Wapping Wharf, ss Great Britain, Mardyke Wharf and The Cottage.

Flight

Bristol Airport is situated 45 minutes drive from the city, catch the Bristol Flyer bus service from the airport to Bristol City Centre. Visit www.bristolairport.co.uk or The Bristol Airport Guide for additional information about travelling to and from Bristol Airport.

Via M5 (coming from the South), exit Junction 18, follow A4 (Portway) to the City Centre. We are located on Anchor Road.

Via M5 (coming from the North), exit M5 Junction 15 to join the M4. Then exit M4 Junction 19 , follow M32 all the way to the City Centre. Follow the road ahead on to the A4044 city centre. At St James Barton roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A38 signposted City Centre. At the one way roundabout system get in lane for the A4 Anchor Road. Please note car park locations below.

Via M4 (East/West), exit M4 Junction 19 , follow M32 all the way to the city centre. Follow the road ahead on to the A4044 city centre. At St James Barton roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A38 signposted City Centre. At the one way roundabout system get in lane for the A4 Anchor Road. The nearest car park, Millennium Car Park, is located off Anchor Road. Please note car park locations below.

 

Park & Ride

Everyone enjoys stress-free journeys into a busy city centre! Therefore we highly recommend making your journey to Bristol Aquarium as easy as possible and take advantage of the three Park & Ride stations in Bristol.

We do not have an aquarium car park and we recommend you are aware of the car parks available through the city before you set off for the day. The nearest are:

Millennium Square car park (a 2 minute walk)

Prince St (NCP) (approx 5 minute walk)

Wapping Wharf on Wapping Road (approx 10 minute walk)

The Mall Galleries, Broadmead (approx 20 minute walk)

Cabot Circus car park (approx 25 minute walk)

By Bicycle

Bicycle parking and/or lockers are available in Anchor SquareMud Dock and Cabot Circus.

By Taxi

Hackney carriage vehicles can pick up from taxi ranks and can be flagged down in the street. These are painted Bristol Blue and will have an illuminated light on the roof and display white and red licence plates with black printing on the front and back of the vehicle which display details of the vehicle and the expiry date.

There are 19 taxi ranks in Bristol City Centre.

Private hire vehicles have to be pre-booked and cannot be flagged down in the street. It is illegal for a private hire vehicle to take a journey which has not been pre-booked or to accept a fare by being hailed. They should display yellow and red licence plates with black printing on the front and back of the vehicle.
